Easy Piano Learning For Beginners

Understanding easy piano sheet music is the primary key to understanding how a piano is played. There are many ways to do this, but the most basic method is for you to know the elements and notations that are used within a particular sheet music. After familiarizing yourself with the sheet music and its application, you won't have a difficulty learning to play the piano.

Piano is one of the most well-known instruments to date. It can be used in many social events or gatherings, typically for formal occasions. It can also be played as a hobby, and learning to play it will also enable you to play the organ or the keyboard, as these instruments have a common theory of operation, even if their components vary from one another. You would be able to play any musical instrument smoothly, especially the piano if you clearly understand these concepts.

The Staff

The composer uses this group of lines to place the notes like in a normal writing notebook. The staff has five horizontal lines with two vertical lines on both ends. The notes are written either on the lines or in the gaps between.

The spaces between the lines are for the F, A, C, and high E notes from the lowest space up. E, G, B, D, and high F are the notes corresponding to the lines starting from the bottom going up.

At the far left of the staff, there are specific notations that tells the player how to proceed with playing the music. Two clefs, the G-clef and the F-clef, may be used to represent either the standard notes within a higher range (Treble clef) or the bass mode of the music (Bass clef). Percussion sounds are symbolized by a staff with no clef.

In order to know when the music can start or end playing, the staff is cut into measures that divides the piece into sections.

The Time Signature

The time signature indicates how the notes are being played and timed; and this is found on the leftmost portion of the staff. It looks like a fraction with one figure placed over another. The upper number denotes the number of beats in a measure and the lower number represents the length of each beat. Example, there are 3 beats in a measure that is played with three quarter notes in a ¾ time measure.

The Notes

Notes are named as whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, etc. The type of notes represents transition between notes, telling the player how long the notes should be played. Each note has a pitch that tells what octave it is located. Knowing sheet music makes use of notes and applying these can make for easy piano playing.
