I would stick with the good brands like Cannonball (Cannonball is American), Selmer (selmer is french), Yamaha (I'm not sure if that is what you are considering a "Chinese" sax. Yamaha is actually Japanese I believe, not sure), or Keilworth.
You need to decide whether you want to play tenor or alto saxophone. usually it is recommended to start on alto, but i started on tenor myself then later learned to play all the others. listen to some recordings then decide which one you like the sound of best.
For a good beginner saxophone, I recommend the Yamaha YAS 275 alto saxophone, or the YTS 275 tenor saxophone, they are good solid beginner saxophones that don't have alot of the issues cheaper brands have.
