A New Fad or Just a Childish Activity?
- Cornhole is Really Fun
- You Can Make a Lot of Money Playing Cornhole.
- Cornhole is Also Called Corn Toss
Cornhole is a game that originated in the midwest. It's similar in many ways to bean-bag toss. The premise of the game is fairly simple, but it's recent surge in popularity has engendered a seriousness to the game that I would have not thought possible.
The game is typically played in teams, but can be played by just a pair of players if necessary. In team play the players one player from each team stands on each side. The bags, filled with corn, are thrown in alternating succession towards the cornhole boards on the opposite side of the field. Buy Cornhole Boards
Bags that land on the board, but do not go into the hole are calculated as one point and bags that go into the hole are counted as three points. The difference between the points of each teammate is calculated against the opponent during each round of throws. If for example, team member of team A gets 5 pints and team member of team B gets 6 points during a round, Team B is awarded with 1 point. The first team to 21 points wins.
The game was first made popular as a tailgate game. This is probably because it so simple, portable and easy to play while drunk. It's popularity has been growing however and recently professional leagues have been forming in certain areas. There are tournaments held in many places on a weekly and monthly basis.
You should not confuse cornhole with simple beanbag toss however. There are many significant differences and those who are fans of the game know that the official regulation cornhole boards are necessary if you are going to be taken seriously. Everything from the size of the board to the type of paint and wood are factors that effect gameplay. Rick Scott: Health reform “is not the law of the land.” (Palm Beach Post)
Palm Beach Post readers had many questions for Gov. Rick Scott, who visited
The Palm Beach Post editorial board today.
A large number of the questions concerned health care, difficulty accessing it
and difficulty paying for it.
I asked Scott several of your questions.
**Marcia Wagshol**, who owns Cormat Tax & Accounting Services in Lake Worth,
asked: “As a small business owner, I pay at least 40 percent more in health
care premiums than larger companies. In fact, I would like to hire an
additional employee, but can’t afford it because I am paying $2,000 per month
for our family of four for a very basic plan with high deductibles and copays.
The Affordable Healthcare Act will lower my health care premiums through
competitive health care exchanges. So why are you and the state of Florida
fighting against implementing it?”
Scott answered by explaining one of his guiding principles: The state should
never accept money for programs that create dependency and aren’t sustainable
over the long-term, he said.
Scott has turned away tens of millions of dollars in federal grants and has
told state agencies not to prepare to open an insurance exchange in 2014 for
individuals and ...
