Making your own compost does not require much, just a compost container full of old leaves, leftover food, and perhaps pet dung. The process is rather simple and has less affect on the environment. This compost will give your turf and garden with nutrients. If you have a large yard, you will need to make a lot of compost. The quantity of compost you will get won't be much because it shrinks as the elements begin to decompose. The lawn and other plants should grow really well in your nutrient-rich soil.
When your plants and grass are healthy, they'll have stronger and longer roots. It may need less water to keep it green, so you'll save money on your water bill. If the area you live in limits the amount of water you can use, then having nutrient-rich soil is very important. With good soil, you will certainly still be able to have a beautiful green lawn or garden without using very much water.
If you water in the early morning hours, you'll receive the best benefits from the water, than some other time. The water will have a way to soak into the soil because there is not much sun for it to evaporate. But try not to do it at night since the water could cause fungus to grow.
